MUMBAI — FMCG major Marico has significantly deepened its footprint in the health and wellness sector by acquiring an additional 24.09% stake in Satiya Nutraceuticals Private Limited, the parent company of the plant-based nutrition brand PLIX.
The transaction, valued at ₹1,012.03 crore, elevates Marico’s total holding in the high-growth entity to 84.09%.
Marico initially acquired a majority stake in Satiya Nutraceuticals to capitalize on the booming consumer demand for preventive healthcare and dietary supplements.
The brand PLIX has since emerged as a formidable player in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) space, offering a wide range of gummies, powders, and supplements tailored to modern lifestyle needs.
This latest acquisition underscores Marico’s aggressive strategy to pivot beyond its traditional hair care and edible oil portfolio, tapping directly into the rapidly expanding nutraceutical market.
According to recent financial disclosures, Satiya Nutraceuticals has demonstrated robust top-line growth, reporting a consolidated turnover of ₹864.31 crore in FY26.
This marks a significant jump from ₹432.84 crore in FY25 and ₹155.32 crore in FY24, highlighting the brand's rapid scaling and strong market acceptance.
The ₹1,012 crore valuation for the additional 24.09% stake reflects the premium placed on PLIX’s expanding consumer base, innovative product pipeline, and digital-first distribution model.
Marico has also outlined a clear roadmap for complete consolidation, with plans to acquire the remaining balance of the company’s equity in July 2027.
Industry analysts view this move as a strategic masterstroke that aligns with shifting consumer preferences toward holistic wellness and preventive care.
By consolidating its ownership, Marico gains greater operational control over PLIX’s supply chain, research and development, and marketing initiatives.
This enables deeper integration with Marico's existing, massive FMCG distribution networks, effectively bridging the gap between PLIX's digital-native appeal and offline retail reach.
Furthermore, this acquisition provides Marico with a vital hedge against saturation in its legacy categories, offering a high-margin revenue stream that is less susceptible to agricultural commodity price fluctuations.
As the global nutraceutical market continues its upward trajectory, Marico’s decisive capital allocation positions it as a dominant force in India’s health and wellness ecosystem.
With full ownership slated for 2027, the company is well-prepared to leverage PLIX’s innovative capabilities to drive its next phase of sustainable, long-term growth.
